Fans who think they can hit the same high notes as Mariah Carey now have the chance to prove it, with the star's new official iPhone app Mariah Carey-oke.

Released by her label Universal Music Group, it gets fans to sing along with four of Carey's songs: Obsessed, Touch My Body, Don't Forget About Us, and Shake It Off.

They're awarded points if they match Mariah's vocals, making it the iPhone equivalent (sort of) of console game SingStar.

On the marketing side, the app also includes news and tour info, as well as integration with Twitter and Facebook, and links to buy the songs from Apple's iTunes Store.

It's just the latest branded karaoke app for iPhone - I Am T-Pain has been a huge hit on the App Store, while Lady Gaga will soon release her own singalong application.

Mariah Carey-oke costs $3.99 in the US App Store (it's not available in the UK yet).
