A bit like an interactive version of that Kevin Bacon degrees game
Developer ZGDev Software has released an iPhone game based on navigating links between randomly-chosen Wikipedia pages.
Called PediaPedia (App Store link), it presents players with start and destination pages, and challenges them to navigate from one to the other, using only direct links from those pages.
If you remember the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon game that was all the rage a few years back... Well, it's a bit like that, except with entries from an online encyclopedia instead of movie stars.
The game ties into Aurora Feint's OpenFeint community so players can unlock achievements, compete in high score tables and challenge their friends.
Meanwhile, the game puts pages through a filter before serving them up to users, to avoid "inappropriate" content and links.
A niche title? Quite possibly, but it's the latest example of the innovation coming from independent iPhone developers.
