New developer’s area – free to list, pay for click-throughs

The UK games store says the model works like a CPC campaign, and that download conversion runs at 98.2 per cent.

It adds that the first 500 downloads are free to the developer, as an incentive to list an app.

“What’s new about this”, said Richard Hawley, director at GameMobile “is that we don’t require any complex jads, jars or compatibility listings: simply a description, some screenshots and a URL where our customers can download the app”.

“Developers almost always have their own download area which does complicated things like serve the correct files based on useragents, so all we need to do is provide them with traffic to their download area”.
