Finnish company releases bar/cafe based app for iPhone and Series 60 devices
Sulake somewhat contentiously claims Bobba Bar is the world's first mobile virtual world - we think the likes of Genkii, which released Sparkle 3D for iPhone way back in March might have something to say about that.
But back to the app itself, Bobba Bar (available as a free download) is a continuation of Sulake’s past mobile experiments, including research project Mini Friday and Bobba beta for Nokia phones.
Those services have been honed into the new social meeting place for those aged 17+, which the company says also forms a natural extension to its Habbo Hotel online community.
Bobba Bar 'guests' can add friends to their friend list, invite friends by using SMS, email and Twitter, and send messages to each other. Visitors can also get free virtual drinks by chatting to the virtual bartenders.
The app is available from today from the Apple App Store, Nokia Ovi, GetJar and direct from www.bobba.com.
