The Haynes brand is making its way onto Apple's iPhone, with technology company Gourmet Pixel launching the Haynes Car Tips application.

The app will include general maintenance information, following the simple to use style of the classic Haynes repair manuals.

Included are step by step guides with images and text, 30 easy to access automotive categories and an overview to learn the basics of how a car works and operates. Videos enable users to watch exactly how each task is completed by a Haynes engineer.

In addition, there will be a 'My Garage' section to help with all those annual tasks including reminders for services, MOT tests, insurance and tax renewal dates.

Under the deal, which was brokered by AT New Media, Gourmet Pixel will work closely with Haynes to exploit various opportunities for the full range of Haynes content.
