Android Market updated in another territory
Google has started making paid apps available on the Japanese version of its Android Market store.
That's according to app-tracking site AndroLib, which has added the paid apps to its Japanese site and tweeted the news that they are now available.
NTT DoCoMo launched its first Android handset in Japan earlier this year, the HT-03A, made by HTC. Until now, users have only been able to download free apps from Android Market.
The news could spark more Android activity from Japanese developers, as in the West, the introduction of paid apps saw a surge of new additions to Google's app store.
TechCrunch claims that 25-30% of AndroLib's visitors are from Japan, indicating that there is certainly significant interest from consumers there.
