Now getting social features with v1.1 update
US-based news organisation NPR has revealed that its NPR News iPhone application has been downloaded more than one million times.
The app allows users to read and listen to NPR's catalogue of news, which is based on the content distributed through more than 880 independent public radio stations in the US.
To celebrate the first million downloads, NPR is launching an updated version of the application which allows users to pause, fast-forward and rewind news programmes.
It also has social features, allowing people to share stories on Facebook and Twitter, or via email. NPR worked with developer Bottle Rocket Apps on the original app and its update.
