Forbes launches new Palm Pre app

News, analysis and opinion in downloadable app from Palm's App Catalog

It's been slow going, but another big media firm has responded to users' pleas for new Palm Pre apps. This time it's business website Forbes.com, which has launched an app for Palm's smartphone.

The free app is available now, and offers news, analysis and opinion from the main website, plus stockmarket updates.

The latter is fairly interesting, with a My Stocks area allowing users to set up a list of stocks and indexes that they want to track.

Meanwhile, there's also a feature called 'Prepare for Offline', which lets users download articles to read when they don't have network reception. Meanwhile, social sites Facebook, Digg and Yahoo Buzz are all tied in.

"The Palm Pre phone's capabilities make it an excellent tool for the mobile executive and entrepreneur," says Forbes product and creative director Jeff Bauer.

The application was developed for Forbes by BlueSwitch. The website already has BlackBerry and iPhone applications, as well as a dedicated mobile site.
