Orange Social Life aggregates Facebook, MySpace and Bebo for mobile

Aggregation's what you need, if you want to be a social media groundbreaker

Orange UK has launched a new tool called Social Life, which aggregates Facebook, MySpace and Bebo on a single homescreen, allowing users to interact with all three social networks.

The service supports photo uploads, status updates, friend news feeds, messaging and other notifications.

SMS alerts are tied in too, and Orange says it's looking to include other social networks and Web 2.0 sites later this year - we're assuming Twitter will be high on the list.

Social Life isn't a downloadable app, but instead a section on the Orange World portal. It builds on existing offers, such as offering pay-as-you-go customers free access to Facebook, MySpace and Bebo.

Meanwhile, Orange has also made its new Orange Widget Player available for the Nokia 6303 handset, with more to follow later this year.

Designed for Orange Signature phones, it lets users download widgets for news, weather and sports updates, as well as various web services.

"With Social Life and Widget Player we're making it simple for customers to manage their favourite content, applications and social networks at the touch of a button," says Mark Watts-Jones, head of product management at Orange UK.

In May, Orange revealed that social networking page impressions were up 129% on its network, while monthly unique users were up 48%.
