iPhone developer Khalid Shaikh has had his App Store licence revoked, and more than 900 of his apps removed from the store
In an email to Shaikh that's since been leaked, Apple said that it had received complaints that more than 100 of his apps were infringing other companies' intellectual property.
"The persistent nature of such complaints has led us to conclude that you are entering into the representations and warranties in the iDP Agreement in bad faith by misrepresenting that you have all the necessary rights for your submissions," says the email.
TechCrunch has been doing some digging, discovering that Shaikh had 943 apps available on the store, which had all been approved by Apple. Most cost $4.99 and aggregated articles and photos from websites about specific topics. This is presumably where the copyright infringement occurred.
With regular complaints about the crowded nature of the App Store, it's hard to imagine Shaikh getting much sympathy from his fellow developers.
Whether iPhone users will miss the chance to pay $4.99 for groundbreaking apps like Top Sexy Ladies - Audina Patridge (pictured) remains to be seen.

Go and licence some content - thats what the rest of us have to do..What we don't want is the app store becoming like the Web where stealing content seems to be an accepted practice on the basis of 'well,everyone else is doing it ' Well done Apple !
