Financial Times releases iPhone app

Siemens to be the commercial UK launch partner and sole advertiser for first month

The app is initially available as a free download and offers access to all FT.com content, in addition to tailored markets data and a currency converter.

In-app advertisers will have the opportunity to deliver targeted content to an individual through ads that can be geo-tagged by country.

The company also says the app is integrated with FT.com's 'access model', which would suggest it will be using in-app billing for some services.

FT.com Lead Product Manager Stephen Pinches said: “We’ve listened to our users who asked for access to their portfolio, easy to use markets data with interactive charts, and quick access to FT articles. Combining the FT.com access model with a great platform for our premium advertisers means we will instantly see a financial return on the investment."
