Freeverse claims its game is the first paid-for app to reach milestone
ME sister-site CasualGaming.biz reported on Monday that popular Firemint title Flight Control had passed the 1m download mark on the Apple App Store.
Impressive enough, but it seems that the game wasn’t actually the first to reach the seven-figure milestone.
Developer Freeverse is claiming that its title Flick Fishing was the first paid-for app to reach the 1m sales mark – most likely doing so just hours ahead of its aeronautical rival.
Flick Fishing has recently received a 3.0 update that allows gamers to connect with friends on a peer-to-peer network and also allows for a number of new digital items to be bought in-game.
“We couldn’t be happier that so many people decided to put on their virtual fishing cap and give Flick Fishing a try,” Freeverse president and co-founder Ian Lynch Smith stated.
“We’re very proud that over one million players have discovered that Flick Fishing is a great way to enjoy summer fun on your iPhone without the pesky flies and mosquitoes.”
Both games are available to download on the App Store now for 59p each.
