Vodafone Germany has launched a revamped ringback tone service based on a platform provided by RealNetworks.

In addition to an overhauled UI the service automatically shuffles the selected tones in a random order. Users can also chose different tones for different times of the day.

The service costs €0.99 a month for basic access, with each tone costing €1.99. Lower-priced tone bundles are also available, such as three for €2.99 or nine for €5.99.

The launch follows RealNetworks deployment of RBT services with Vodafone Turkey, a service the partners say has grown an average of 14 per cent each month since its launch in August 2008.

Real already powers Vodafone music stores in nine countries, including Germany, the UK, Ireland, Portugal, Italy, Greece, The Netherlands, Romania and Spain.
