LG to launch app store in Korea

World's number three handset maker schedules launch for July

According to Reuters, LG is set to join the rush to download stores with a storefront pitched at its home country users.

The company has also declared its determination to maintain a global market share target of ten per cent for this year and aims to become number two by 2012. In 2008, LG sold 100.7 million phones to claim about nine per cent of the market.

These dislosures came at the domestic launch of LG's new premium Arena touchscreen phone. It has targeted five million sales for the device.

You're probably the only one then. This trend for apps stores is ridiculous.

Why not buying content for your LGs via the old-fashioned way? - There surely is a lot of cool stuff available already.

Can I make a suggestion? Rather than spend millions on the latest trend and ultimate failure of app stores, put that money in creating a working and ease to use User Interface!?? We all look to Apple and see iTunes, when in fact you should look to Apple and see a UI on Macs that beats Windows, a UI on MP3 players that beats all competitors and ultimately a UI on phones that grants VERy easy access to downloadable content.
