And 83 per cent store digital photos while 40 per cent keep music downloads
A study by mobile device management company Mformation highlights how phone is becoming increasingly central to consumer lifestyles. According to the survey:
* 65 per cent of mobile users store address and other contact information
* 83 per cent have digital photos
* 51 per cent have videos
* 48 per cent have calendar information
* 40per cent have music downloads.
Three-quarters of the people interviewed said that it would take a day or more to get a new phone fully up and running with all their personal data after a loss or theft. This explains why 40 per cent of respondents said that losing a mobile would be worse than losing their wallet.
“Mobile phones are becoming more and more essential to user lifestyles,” said Matt Bancroft, VP at Mformation. “Mobile operators need to make sure that users are confident that their devices are secure, the data on those devices is protected, and device content can be backed up and recovered if a phone is lost or stolen."
