Mmm... Donuts. Except this kind comes with an SDK and a sprinkle of APIs.
Engadget reports that Google has begun demo-ing the next version (v2.0) of its Android mobile OS, which will go by the name of Donut.
It follows the food theme that started with v1.5 (Cupcake) and, more importantly, will offer new features such as Android Search, a text-to-speech API and handwriting recognition.
Google and its operator partner T-Mobile began issuing OTA updates to v1.5 of the Android firmware for the G1 earlier this month.
Notable Cupcake features included an on-screen keyboard, integrated picture and video uploads, scrolling improvements and tweaks to the functionality of things such as the camera and GPS.
