UK TV gambling firm takes a bet on Zed services for £1m in stock.

Zed offloaded Venturygames.co.uk and Toucanwin.com to the interactive gaming company run by former Monstermob boss Martin Higginson. Zed knows Higginson well, as it bought Monstermob from him in 2007.

Netplay also bought the mobile quiz business Grab a Grand from Info-download, and agreed an exclusive two-year agreement to sell these services in to Zed’s 130 operator clients in 54 countries.

Netplay believes the new purchases will enable it to complement its TV services with mobile faster than planned.

Higginson said: "The mobile platform is an important part of our converged plan...having access to the Zed mobile developers will enable us to develop integrated mobile applications much quicker and therefore give the consumer greater choice of which device he or she accesses our gaming services from."
