France-based mobile game publisher has sent out Dear John letters to its European partners
The letters confirm the termination of contracts, and read: 'I regret to inform you that, following the completion of the merger between Vivendi Games and Activision, the new management at Activision Blizzard has decided to discontinue our direct presence in the mobile games market.'
ME reported the imminent closure of VGM's European unit earlier this month.
The axe has hung over mobile since Vivendi was bought by Activision earlier this year.
Shortly after the buy-out Activision said VGM would be ‘realigned or divested', and the latter looked more likely as Activision has never had its own mobile unit, preferring to license its IP to third parties such as Glu.
