New tool enables operators to manage and monitor mobile web traffic.
Openwave Mobile Analytics includes the company's Mobile Business Intelligence (MBI) module, which tracks subscriber access to URLs, duration of website visits and their frequency.
The solution also includes the Openwave Behavioral Targeting module, which correlates data from an operator's subscriber demographics and classifies traffic to create behavioral categories.
The company says this information can then be used to help target mobile marketing and advertising campaigns.
Openwave is currently delivering customized reports to a tier one carrier in the APAC region that has witnessed its iPhone users accessing 5.5 times more data than other phones.
Sean MacNeill, VP and GM of services management and global services at Openwave, said: “Business intelligence is the key element to monetising the mobile internet. By better understanding mobile data usage patterns, carriers can identify and deliver relevant revenue generating services."
