New mass-market handset comes with 8 megapixels of picture power.
LG has confirmed that its 8 megapixel feature phone - the KC780 - will launch in the UK before the end of this month, though pricing details remain under wraps.
The slider has a 2.4-inch widescreen LCD display, Schneider-Kreuznach certified lens and something LG calls Smart Bluetooth, which allows the device to double up as a wireless PC webcam.
Other functionality includes light sensitivity up to ISO 1600, a built-in Image Stabiliser, D1 video recording and motion sensor gaming.
It's not short of natty gimmicks either - the Smile Shot mode automatically triggers the shutter when it determines that the subject is smiling, while Beauty Mode allows users to remove any imperfections, ensuring faces appear bright and clear in photos.
Jeremy Newing, head of LG mobile marketing, said: “Following on from the recent launch of the LG Renoir, we are delighted to add the LG-KC780 to our 8 megapixel camera phone portfolio. Packed full of the latest technology... the LG-KC780 offers consumers a truly high-end feature phone available at a mid-range price.”
