New app to allow users to gaze at the stars
NASA’s space photography is now to be available through Apple’s iPhone.
Created by development firm sendmetospace, the iAPODViewer displays pictures taken from NASA’s Astonomy Picture of the Day website on the device, along with an informed description from an astronomer.
“The iAPOD application allows people to get a unique glimpse of our fascinating universe directly on their mobile phone,” said lead developer at sendmetospace, Michael Kaye.
“We hope that the fact that the application is on the iPhone will encourage a whole new generation of space enthusiasts.”
The application is priced at £1.19 and will be available from October 8th.
