DotMobi has unveiled version 2 of its DeviceAtlas handset database.
The update moves DeviceAtlas from a ‘read-only’ database to a ‘read-write’ version and introduces automated phone capability tests, advanced search features and graph options.
dotMobi says it had received commitments for device data from contributors, including Sony Ericsson and Bango. Data from these providers has been added to the info from Nokia, Vodafone, Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM), Argogroup and Mobizoft.
Trey Harvin, CEO of dotMobi, said, "DeviceAtlas has quickly proved to be exactly what the mobile industry needed to help grow the mobile Web.
DeviceAtlas is already the world's most popular mobile device database, with more registered users than any other similar product. And now, with the addition of data from Sony Ericsson and Bango, we have made the world’s largest device database even larger.”
dotMobi offers the database at a variety of fees and has created special enterprise-level licensing and support to meet the demands of the largest web sites on the market.
