Shazam notches 1.5m App Store downloads

Music discovery pioneer says iPhone users have identified 20 million songs.
Shazam says nits iPhone its application has been downloaded by more than 1.5 million times in its first six weeks of its availability on the Apple App Store.
The UK-based company also says iPhone owners are some of its most prolific users, having identified more than 20 million tracks to date.
The application allows users to identify songs, watch the related videos on YouTub, and buy identified tracks through iTunes.
They can also tag the identified tracks with photos.
Andrew Fisher, Shazam’s CEO, said: “The application taps into the user’s desire to discover, capture and share their music experiences and the success confirms our belief that music recognition will become a ubiquitous feature for all mobile phones in the future.”
