MySpace Music: live at last

MySpace Music went live last night after the addition of EMI committed all major labels to the project.
The service offers yet another challenge to Apple in the online music space and also, of course, offers mobile content from MySpace’s sister company Jamba.
Myspace's 120m global users can search for songs by title, artist or album to stream in a preferred online music player, which will showcase a variety of advertisements from companies like McDonald's, Sony Pictures and Toyota.
There’s also unlimited playlist functionality and MP3 downloads powered by Amazon.
Myspace Music hosts more than 5m major, independent and unsigned artists within the site's music profiles section. Its joint venture also includes partnerships with independent music distributor Orchard and Sony ATV.
The four major labels are all equity partners in MySpace Music.
