Vindigo is no more

One of the original ringtone vendors, Vindigo, appears to have folded.
The Silicon Valley Insider says the New York firm is shutting down with the loss of 30-plus employees. Vindigo was early into the market, and was one of the companies targeted by Japanese-based For-Side, which bought both Vindigo and Zingy in 2004.
It eventually merged them and ploughed through numerous CEOs and changes of strategic direction.
It’s been a miserable western adventure for For-Side, which also bought UK-based iTouch for $330m before selling it back to the management in 2007 for a fraction of the price.
