Windows Mobile 7 delayed

Microsoft puts back release of new mobile OS until second half of 2009, say reports.
The next version of the Windows Mobile operating system won't see the light of day until the second half of next year, according to CNET.
Microsoft has apparently told partners to expect the delay, having initially slated the launch for early-2009.
With Apple's iPhone flying, BlackBerry expanding, Google launching Android and Nokia's continued dominance of the now massively competitive smartphone space, the Windows delay is unfortunate to say the least.
In the meantime it will be interesting to see how Microsoft develops its plans for the Skymarket content portal.
