Buongiorno will spend 500,000 euros on a viral campaign to support its blinko social network.

The campaign, designed and created by DLV Proximity and distributed in Italy and Spain by GoViral, is based on a theme of friendship and has a headline of ‘your friends are always with you”. It starts on September 22nd and lasts for four weeks.

The campaign features a human chain that welcomes “digital natives” who use services such as SMS, email and IM, and who demand a simple, intuitive user experience. Over 100 extras were used to form the human chain. The different characters in the story are dressed according to their “status of the moment”; it includes a chef, surfer, scuba diver, hostess, karate champion and more.

Lucia Predolin, head of marketing of Buongiorno, said: “In our culture, the meeting place has always been the “piazza” — an invention that came about as an architectural element of Italian city-states in the late Middle Ages.

blinko is nearing its launch date and can be tried in beta test by connecting to www.realtimerealpeople.com. GoViral is aiming to get the viral on 10,000 websites and blogs in front of more than half a million potential blinko users in Italy and Spain.
