Mfuse will provide mobile betting services for high street giant William Hill and TV's Sky Bet.
The initial three-year offering for William Hill will be a sports betting service for mobile internet set for launch later this year. It will use Mfuse’s mobile provisioning and transaction technology to enable complex bet types, in-running betting and credit/debit card deposit and withdrawals. The Mfuse platform will be linked directly into the existing William Hill back-end system.
Both parties hope the new service will enable William Hill to attract new users who can sign up directly through their mobile without needing to go online. Mfuse will also provide a downloadable Java version of the service early in 2009. This will allow consumers to react immediately to moving odds/prices during an event.
Charles Palmer, marketing director of Mfuse, said: “We are committed to pushing the boundaries of mobile betting technology and delivering reliable services with a high level of support…William Hill will benefit from our unrivalled handset and network technology, meaning their customers will enjoy an easy to use betting experience from their mobile phones.”
In a parallel announcement, Mfuse confirmed an greement with Sky Bet, the sports betting arm of BSkyB, to develop new mobile sports betting service. It will be available from Q4 2008 via the mobile internet and as a downloadable Java app.
Mfuse expects in-play to be a major feature of the new Sky Bet service. So the new service will also allow Sky Bet customers to watch Sky Sports while placing bets.
