Handset giant officially kicks off its second annual Sony Ericsson Content Awards.
They are open to all mobile developers who have created content, applications or services for Sony Ericsson handsets. Last year’s winners included RealNetworks, BitCycle, Opera, Gracenote, Metronize/Clavitones and Vringo.
For the 2008 competition, SE has unveiled seven categories. They are:
· Mobile Entertainment
Imaging and video, music and gaming, the web and beyond.
· Lifestyle Experiences
From managing schedules, to commerce and social connections.
· Themes & Graphics
Personalisation, basically.
· XPERIA X1 Panels
The X1 displays nine panels simultaneously that expand to show a group of short-cuts, apps, web services and so on.
This is a challange to develop new panels using new tools from Sony Ericsson Developer World.
· Being Productive
Anything that will make working while on-the-go easier.
· Going Green
For eco-minded apps.
· In-Car applications
Enhancing the in-car experience and making it safer.
Entries are welcomed from today to November 30 at www.sonyericsson.com/contentawards. Finalists will be selected in December and the winners will be announced in an official online ceremony on February 5, 2009.
