Openwave is helping operators create flexible mobile internet options for subscribers.
It’s introduced Passport, which enables subscriber options like day-long, hour-long and week-long browsing passes. Sean MacNeill, VP of for service management and global services at Openwave, said: “Openwave’s mobile internet services set a new industry standard for experiencing the web on a mobile device, and are driving new opportunities through support of ‘pay as you go’ mobile internet and service subscription signup models.”
A second service, OpenMedia, converts files like PDFs, MS Office documents and embedded Flash clips to a format optimised for mobile devices.
