d2c, games, gaming, popcapPopCap goes D2C in UK and Ireland

Casual games giant PopCap has unveiled a D2C site for UK users at mobile.popcap.com.

Players can text a shortcode or type in a wap URL to access the site, where they can purchase PopCap’s Bookworm, Chuzzle, Bejeweled or Zuma at £5 per game plus data charges.

PopCap games have been downloaded more than 1 billion times on sales channels, including web portals, retail stores, phones, MP3 players, and game devices.

PopCap recently revealed that Bejeweled and Bejeweled 2 have sold over 25 million units. multiple content partnerships such as Flavorpill, TimeOut, Zagat and many more. User-generated feedback is also layered throughout the platform.
