National Geographic into mobile territory

National Geographic is to enter new territory by moving into the mobile content region.
The historic natural history brand will appoint Aaron Kohn, currently VP of corporate strategy and development, is its new mobile general manager. It will launch a WAP site tied to its magazines and TV network next month.
A partnership is mooted with PlayPhone to distribute wallpapers, ringtones, videos and games for PC and mobile. Licensing its other partners, including handset vendors. will also be stepped up.
