Buongiorno revenue up 84 per cent

D2C content giant's 1H08 revenues reach €158 million, operating profit up 74 per cent.
The largest share of Buongirono's revenue was attributable to Consumer Services, which generated €149.8 million in 1H08, accounting for 95 per cent of the total.
Its Marketing Services division posted sales of €8.4 million, up of 42 per cent, following partnerships with the likes of Orange, Vodafone and KPN.
Approximately 88 per cent of Buongiorno's 1H08 sales were generated outside of the company's Italian base.
New markets entered during the period were South Africa, Australia, and Argentina.
Andrea Casalini, CEO of Buongiorno, said: “We believe that the mobile entertainment market will continue to offer significant long-term opportunities, despite the less buoyant short term outlook, resulting from our period of adjustment and macroeconomic conditions."
