A leading exponent of Microsoft's .Net architecture sings the praises of iPhone's SDK.
Kevin Hoffman, a leading authority on .Net software, has used his blog to assert that iPhone is now the most powerful mobile development platform.
Writing at .NetAddict, Hoffman said: "There is one thing that I can confirm without breaking any NDA: the iPhone is hands down, without a doubt, the single most powerful mobile development platform ever. Whether that platform will see enterprise adoption or whether it will remain plagued by people making $2 flashlights...
time will only tell."
Hoffman wrote in the blog as a reaction to the unauthorised publication of NDA'd comments he made during a seminar at Apple's WWDC that compared the iPhone SDK with the Microsoft .Net development environment.
He also addresses the issue of the iPhone Developer Programme NDA itself, which has been on the receiving end of much developer community frustration in terms of the 'haves' and 'have nots' situation it has created. It's interesting stuff.

“Hmm...”

I could have sworn the WiMo people had said the iPhone platform is one of the most hobbled and closed platform they'd ever seen. Not being able to run background apps and that the SDK doesn't allow certain security features to be enabled remotely. The NDA doesn't allow developers to work together which in turn slows down overall development. Stuff like that. Very conflicting points of view, indeed. Hard to know who to believe.

Lol this is crazy. It is not even a smartphone. Can it run for example MySQL? Real smartphones like Nokia can.
