A birthday and new funding for Mobile Games Unlimited

Mobile Games Unlimited has targeted growth as it celebrates its tenth year in business

The co-founder of parent company Interactive Telcom Mike Halton told ME he recently bought out his brother’s share of the company and has since taken on large investment.

“Now the firm is getting large investment in the infrastructure and the marketing and PR side, which is something that the company has never done before. So this is a big change for us. We’ve revitalised the company in a short time. We’re growing in a more commercial way. It’s the most mature growth that we’ve ever had and all this has happened really over the last three months.”

The firm started on the back of a video games cheats and tips line, but the growth of the internet led to a branching out to new areas of business, specifically the downloadable mobile games sector.

The arrival of Mobile Games Unlimited in the summer of 2004 was another big moment for the company, with the launch believed to be the first large scale magazine advertising launch of its kind, within the lifestyle and gaming press.
