UK pay TV giant appoints new GM for mobile and its first head of mobile advertising.
Sky has promoted David Gibbs to become its general manager for mobile, while Tim Hussain has joined the company to become its first head of mobile advertising.
It's certainly been a busy month at Sky's mobile unit, with Emma Lloyd earlier taking overall responsibility for mobile in addition to her business development role.
In his previous job in Sky’s Commercial Group, Gibbs worked to implement Sky Mobile TV, 24-7 Football, Sky Anytime on Mobile, and the syndication of Sky content on operator portals.
Hussain joins from AOL and reports into Giles Ivey, director of sales for portal and vertical at Sky Digital Media. He will focus on working with media agencies to help them exploit the brand opportunities across Sky’s entire mobile inventory.
The company says Sky Mobile TV, which offers 30 linear and made-for-mobile TV channels on Vodafone, Orange and T-Mobile, has 200,000 subscribers.
Last year Sky launched 24-7 Football, which provides in-game goal clips and after match highlights for all FA Premier League and UEFA Champions League matches.
