Travellers can now purchase and download city guides direct from Nokia's Maps application.
The initial offering includes a hundred Lonely Planet mobile guides priced at £5.99 each, with more to be added in the coming months.
They can be found in Nokia Maps in the Guides section of the Extras menu. Nokia says it has shipped 2 million GPS-enabled devices over the last 12 months.
Lonely Planet content will include help on finding places to eat, shop, drink and sleep, as well as providing information on each destination.
The maps themselves can be downloaded directly to selected devices or by using the Nokia Map Loader on a PC.
Maximilian Schierstadt, head of media partnerships at Nokia's context-based services division, said: “We are very excited to offer Lonely Planet's expert local recommendations and itineraries to our Nokia Maps consumers, which will allow Nokia to continue to innovate and enable compelling location aware experiences."
Nokia Maps 2.0 uses vector maps provided by Navteq and TeleAtlas and now has maps covering over 200 countries.
