Google will eventually make more money from mobile than online, says its CEO Eric Schmidt.
He told CNBC that the handset mobile could eventually eclipse the desktop: “We can make more money in mobile than we do in the desktop eventually… and the reason is the mobile computer is more targeted. Think about it: you carry your phone, and your phone knows all about you… we can do a very, very targeted ad. Over time we will make more money from mobile advertising… not now, but over time.”
Of course, that process will start from later this year when Google’s Android OS and ecosystem is finally launched. There’s still no confirmation on a handset launch, but observers believe the HTC Dream should ship in the final quarter.

Not very likely that Google will be able to dominate Mobile search and advertising the way it does online. Looks like wishful thinking at this point.
