85 per cent of Indian mobile subs receive mobile advertising, says a new study.
Mobile social community Limbo and market watcher GfK also assert that 51 per cent of UK users and 37 per cent of US consumers are seeing ads on their handsets. Delivery tools vary. Text messaging remains the most common advertising format – hitting 74 per cent in India, 48 per cent in the UK and 22 per cent in the US.
Mobile web advertising was most prevalent in the UK, with 16 per cent of respondents recalling advertising compared with 8 per cent in the US and 4 per cent in India.
Radio reached nearly 40 per cent in India compared to only 9 per cent in the UK and 3 per cent in the US.
"We're seeing an increase in consumer awareness of a variety of mobile advertising campaigns, from text message to interactive games to mobile internet banner advertisements," says Jonathon Linner, CEO of Limbo.
