Over half of the 600 mobile games D2C portals worldwide are controlled by 10 enterprises.
Multimedia Research Consultancy (TMRC), which has just launched its latest version of the Mobile Games Enterprises Database, has identified the growth of the D2C ‘Mobile Games Mega-Portal’, and says some enterprises are running portals aimed at 40 or more countries. They include Buongiorno, Zed, News Corp (Jamba!/Jamster) and MediaPlazza plus handset manufacturers like Nokia (N-Gage), Samsung (FUN Club) and LG Mobile.
TMRC's database lists 2,368 named executives and 2,003 offices/studios in 95 countries operated by 1,470 enterprises.
