Emma Lloyd is Sky's new mobile honcho
Tim Green Aug 7 2008, 5:11pm
Sky has hired ex-Movio chief Emma Lloyd as its new head of mobile.
Lloyd was promoted from business development director and will be responsible for the development of Sky mobile services such as 24-7 Football, Sky News, Sky Sports and Sky entertainment, and for Sky's mobile applications such as the Sky+ remote record function.
She can expect a more rewarding time at Sky than she had at BT Movio, which was the company that teamed up with Virgin Mobile to offer a doomed broadcast mobile TV service based on DAB.
Good experience, though.
Stephen Nuttall, director of Sky's commercial group, said: "More customers are using their mobile devices to access sports, news and entertainment than ever before. Emma's expertise and experience within the mobile sector mean that she is ideally placed to lead Sky's mobile business."
