Motorola and Cisco Systems have added to the pool of cash flowing into mobile ad specialist Amobee.
The two companies joined existing investors Telefonica, Vodafone, Accel Partners, Globespan and Sequoia Capital in a fresh round of funding. Earlier this year Amobee formed a global alliance with Telefonica and Vodafone in multiple markets including Italy, Spain, and Czech Republic.
Amobee offers operators a kind of mobile ad ‘dashboard’ that enables them to offer their inventory to agencies and advertisers.
The platform dynamically inserts relevant ads into different mobile channels, including video, music, messaging, games, and WAP. It works with brands like Acura, Coca-Cola, Canon, Fox Searchlight, Mercedes and more.
Additionally, Amobee announced that Gary Schofield has joined as its new president and COO. Most recently, Schofield was president of networks at Digital Chocolate.
