Golden Joystick awards up for grabs as part of broadcaster's Generation Next programme.

Channel 4 has teamed up with the Golden Joystick awards to find new game design and development talent.

The 'Mobile Game Pitch' project will return this year, tasking wannabe developers to pitch mobile game designs. Nine will be selected for presentation to a panel during the London Games Festival, and the lucky winner will receive a cash prize, honour at the Golden Joysticks and the chance to have the idea optioned for further development.

In addition, E4 is launching a second competition this year - the 'E4 Grand Master Flash'. Flash game developers have seven weeks to submit their games to the E4 website, at which point a shortlist of ten will be chosen and placed on the site. Users can then vote for their favourite via the Golden Joysticks website, and the winner will receive a £5,000 commission from E4.com and a Golden Joystick award.

"It's always our aim to forge links between innovators and industry and this year, we're upping the ante so that new creative talent can potentially see their idea produced for commercial distribution," said James Estill, senior producer at 4Talent.

Jody Smith, editor of E4.com, added: "The games we commission for e4.com always go down a storm, so we thought we'd turn the tables and celebrate the genius of game-making talent by giving them a place to showcase their work, as well as some killer prizes."
