Globe acquires content specialist EGG

Filipino operator Globe has bought the local content specialist Entertainment Gateway Group.
Globe paid P351 million for the company, which will now become a wholly-owned subsidiary of the network.
"Our acquisition of EGG is in line with Globe's strategy to drive growth through expansion into adjacent spaces, such as mobile content creation and distribution," said Gerardo Ablaza, Jr., CEO of Globe Telecom.
