While shepherds tend their flocks by text

SMS is replacing shepherds in Iceland, with sheep movements being relayed by text.
According to the Iceland Review, an experiment is being carried out in the remote Strandir region in which sheep are fitted with GPS-enabled transmitters that send daily SMS messages with their locations.
The idea is to investigate the interaction between sheep and see whether related sheep stick together.
