O2 MMS privacy scare
Tim Green Jul 23 2008, 11:08am
O2 suspended its web-based MMS service after photos sent privately were displayed online.
The problem, reported by Computeractive and discovered by anti-spam blog Mail Channels, affects users of handsets that can't display picture messages, including iPhone.
When these users receive an MMS they get a text message with a link to a web-based viewer. But some of these images can be viewed by anyone, without password protection – and were displayed with the sender's phone number.
