Cell C and io launch dual download service

South African operator Cell C and io global have launched a content delivery service, Juice.
The new service, which is the first of its kind in South Africa, enables subscribers from any network to browse and purchase music tracks, ringtones, wallpapers and games, via any WAP-enabled handset and PC. All packaging, pricing, delivery and real-time billing for Juice is automated by the io global Platform. Customers can pay in a variety of ways, including credit card, WAP billing or premium rate SMS.
Brendan Dowling, CEO of io global, said: “The Juice service enables Cell C to provide mobile phone users across the entire country with access to a wide range of content. Through the flexibility of the payment options and by providing content which appeals to a broad audience, it positions Cell C as the leading digital content provider in the South African marketplace.”
