Hackers break Apple’s security measures just hours after flagship handset goes on sale

It took a couple of months for hackers to break the security code on the original iPhone – but overnight news has broken that only hours after hitting shelves Apple’s new handset has already been cracked wide open.

Gizmodo reports that the group known as the iPhone Dev Team cracked the machine before it went on official sale.

The same folk also had the iPhone 2.0 OS working on original iPhones as early as last week.

The iPhone Dev Team has pledged to release an unlocking application for other 3G iPhone owners ‘soon’.
