The analysts are queuing up to regale us with stats and factoids relating to Apple's device, which launches today.
For starters, Comscore M:Metrics says 80 per cent of iPhone users in France, Germany and the UK browse the mobile web compared to 32 per cent of other smartphone users.
In fact, the general trend seems to be that iPhone users do more of everything than regular mobile users.
Comscore also says 42 per cent of iPhone users visited a social networking site on their device in May compared to the market average of three per cent and 10 per cent among smartphone owners.
Moreover, while smartphones are adopted by a higher proportion of men than mobile phones overall, iPhones have an even stronger male skew in the UK and Germany.
In the UK for example, 75 per cent of iPhone users are male, while men account for about 68 per cent of smartphone users. In contrast, in France, 67 per cent of iPhone users are men compared to a higher 71 percent of smartphone users.
M:Metrics also asserts that improvement in iPhone 3G handset features and reduced pricing should have a significant impact on uptake, especially in the European markets where the UK has 3G penetration at 26 per cent, Germany at 23 per cent and France at 17 per cent.
Nielsen Mobile, meanwhile, says 67 per cent of US iPhone users are male (compared to 48 per cent of all mobile subscribers), while 55 per cent of iPhone owners are under the age of 35 (compared to 34 per cent of all mobile subscribers).
The research company also says iPhone users tend to be more affluent, with 63 per cent earning above $75k (compared to 38 per cent of all mobile subscribers).
Other Nielsen stat picks from US iPhone usage include:
24 per cent of iPhone owners are Hispanic
9.7 per cent of streaming video users and 4.9 per cent of mobile internet users own an iPhone
75 per cent use the iPhone's music player
68 per cent use the Wi-Fi functionality of the iPhone
37 per cent of iPhone users watch video on their phone (10 times more likely than the average mobile user)
82 per cent access the internet over their phone (5 times more likely than the average mobile user)
17 per cent stream music over their phone (7 times more likely than the average mobile consumer)
20 per cent play online games on their phone (9 times more likely than the average mobile consumer)
15 per cent say their company foots the bill
24 per cent say they use their phone for business, but pay the bill themselves
61 per cent say they are a personal user
Nielsen Mobile also estimates there are already 1.1 million mobile subscribers in Europe using an iPhone – 0.3 per cent of the overall total. It says 73 per cent are male, two-thirds are under 35 and 40 per cent are single.
The researcher reveals the media-savvy nature of iPhone users, with 63 per cent accessing the Internet over their phone (five times more than the average mobile consumer) and 25 per cent watching video (eight times higher). Neilsen projects that 30 per cent of iPhone users are likely to upgrade their device in the coming year, thanks to 3G.
