Mobile users to get free video coverage of 2008’s festival acts.
Mobile video search provider vTap has announced the availability of two new services for the UK market.
The ‘UK Festivals’ and ‘UK Alternative Festivals’ channels can be obtained free of charge (excluding data costs) to any mobile user with a video and web-enabled handset and can also be viewed on PC.
vTap works by aggregating user-generated video - it trawls over 50,000 websites for content, including YouTube and Daily Motion.
So with 595 festivals to choose from in the UK this summer, the company reckons users will be able access content relating to the festival of their choice.
This could be from mainstream events such as O2 Wireless, T in the Park or the Reading and Leeds festivals, through to more niche events like Green Man or Latitude.
